Review by hotel critic
Our family had a wonderful stay at the charming Schoolhouse Cottage in the Lake District. During our time there, we had the opportunity to experience some of the fantastic family-friendly activities the area has to offer. One of the highlights was taking a cruise on Lake Windermere, where we were able to soak in the stunning views of the surrounding countryside from the water. Another memorable experience was visiting the Lakeside & Haverthwaite Railway, where we stepped back in time and enjoyed a leisurely train ride through the picturesque landscape. We also had a chance to explore the Aquarium, where we marveled at the diverse marine life on display. Back at the B&B, our family enjoyed the cozy accommodations and delicious breakfast spread. the hosts, Sharon and Steve, were incredibly welcoming and went above and beyond to ensure our stay was comfortable and enjoyable. We especially loved spending time in the beautiful garden and relaxing in the sun room in the evenings. Overall, our family had a fantastic time exploring the Lake District and Schoolhouse Cottage provided the perfect home base for our adventures.
